Chesed at KOE - Ansche Chesed Shelter  The Ansche Chesed Shelter (located on 100th St. at West End Avenue) provides a warm and safe environment for 10 homeless men every night of the year. The men are affiliated with Grand Central Partnership and Project Reachout; organizations that provide comprehensive social services for the homeless. Volunteers open and close the shelter, help with set up (the shelter is a nursery school by day), and supervise the overall activities of the shelter. KOE staffs the Ansche Chesed Homeless Shelter for the opening shift, from 7-9 PM, every Monday night. Training occurs by pairing new volunteers with more experienced ones.
